Consultation via e-mail

※By using this service (consultation via e-mail), please read the below instructions carefully in order to avoid any miscommunication.


1. We accept and respond to inquiries from children (up to high school students), parents and school teachers via e-mail.


2. Inquiries/conclusion can be made on subjects such as:

  • concerns about daily life at home: parent-child relationship, parenting, habits of your child, etc.
  • concerns about daily life at school: making friends, truancy, adapting to group-living, etc.
  • concerns about enrolling in Tokyo metropolitan high schools, etc.

※Please note that we may not be able to answer to inquiries regarding subjects other than the above.


《Example of inquiries we find difficult to answer》

Complaints on school administration, its educational system and personnel management at school etc.
(We cannot give any instructions to schools/teachers. If you have any complaints against schools/teachers, we advise you to contact school manager, or to contact the board of education in your district in case you cannot find a solution as a result of meeting with the school manager.)


3. You will receive our reply via e-mail only once. The contents of our e-mail reply will be based on general understanding/information. Please note that we can only answer your inquiries via e-mail, and not over the telephone.


4. We need around five days (not including Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays) before sending you a return e-mail. For the purpose of providing high-quality/appropriate services, we require approximately two weeks (not including Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays) in replying to consultations in a foreign language via e-mail.
Upon receipt of your e-mail, we will send you a message asking you to double-check your e-mail address, to ensure that we have used the correct one. We ask you to be prepared to receive an e-mail from @section.metro.tokyo.jp. Upon receipt of your confirmation, we will send you another e-mail message to respond to your query.


5. If you do not receive any replies from us within five business days (not including Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays), please double check your e-mail settings and make sure your account accepts messages from our e-mail address, or send us another e-mail specifying a different e-mail address to which we could send our reply. If you require urgent assistance, please give us a call at the number written below.
